I'm very excited to present a new selection of photos on my site! I have added a gallery of landscape photos I have taken over the past few years and quite like. I'd like to feature a couple of them in this post and then run through some more in the next post.
The above photo is taken while I was visiting family near Ålesund and went to meet a friend in the city. On the drive back out it was near to sunset and there was an exit labeled Aksla viewpoint. As I had no more plans I decided to check it out. It being the middle of July at 9 or so the golden hour was already in full swing.
This beautiful time around sunset really does last longer here in Norway and it was almost midnight when I left. I stayed well later than I had expected to. This image was made around 10:15 and the sky is still ablaze.
This was taken in 2015 when I was visiting a friend in New York City. Gerson Lanza is a tap dancer and incredible artist but most importantly a great guy. I had a fantastic time hanging out with him and my other New York friends.
One day I took the Staten Island ferry and got a great shot of the sun hanging just above the Statue of Liberty. I had taken the ferry just to see the skyline and the statue so I just took the same boat back and on the way back the timing was perfect. As we were passing closest to the statue the sun set exactly behind the base and created a magical glow and an amazing silhouette. I am still excited by this photo and the memory of my trip in New York.
Which of my landscape photos are you most curious to hear the story behind? Leave a comment and I'll give you the story next time.
